Best 2023 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Preview – The Bet Club

| |

The NHL’s Stanley Cup Playoffs will begin on April 17, 2023, with 16 teams competing for the ultimate prize. The Boston Bruins are the favorites to win the Cup after setting NHL records for wins and points in a season, and they will face last year’s Presidents’ Trophy winners, the Florida Panthers, in their opening matchup.

The defending-champion Colorado Avalanche are the favorites to win the Western Conference, followed by the Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs, who are hoping to bring the Cup back to Canada for the first time since 1993.

BNB Bet Club predicts that the closest battles in the first round will be between the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils, and the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning, who are looking to make their fourth straight appearance in the final.

The Edmonton Oilers are the hottest team in the NHL, having won their last nine games and 17 of their last 20. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are the most offensively dynamic duo in the league, and McDavid recorded the first 150-point season since Mario Lemieux in 1995-96.

Tonights Best NHL Bets 04-16-2023

On the opening night of the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the first of the late night doubleheader will feature a Central Division battle between the Dallas Stars and the Minnesota Wild, both of whom narrowly missed out on winning the division. Dallas held the top spot for much of the season, but the Wild crept up for a couple of weeks before the Colorado Avalanche snatched it away from both of them on the last night of the regular season. In the second game of the opening round of the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs tonight, the Rangers and Devils are set to clash in a highly anticipated Eastern Conference matchup. We have two best bet picks for this clash.

Best Bet NHL Pick: Dallas Stars and the Minnesota Wild

In Game 1, Dallas will have home ice advantage, and we trust them to capitalize on it. This will be an exciting matchup with two of the best young stars, Dallas’ Jason Robertson and Minnesota’s Kaprizov, but we give the slight edge to Dallas due to their experience. Joe Pavelski recorded his 1,000th career point during the last week of the season, and captain Jamie Benn is a former Art Ross Trophy winner for the league-leader in points. Additionally, Dallas has a great goaltender in Jake Oettinger, who has looked impressive for multiple seasons and is the primary reason why Dallas allowed the third-fewest goals per game this year.

We expect a back-and-forth series, but we’ll take the Stars to shine brightest in Game 1. The Stars ML (-140) is available at the time of publishing and playable at that number.

Best Bet NHL Pick: NJ Devils Win Money Line

Both teams possess strong defensive skills and boast household names in their top lines. However, the Devils are favored to win the series despite being one of the bottom teams in the Eastern Conference last year. The team had a remarkable turnaround this year and came within a point of clinching the Metro Division title. Their offense, led by Jack Hughes and Timo Meier, has been bolstered and they ended the year with the 5th-most goals scored per game. New Jersey won three out of their four matchups against New York, including a recent victory just over two weeks ago. The Devils’ dynamic offense is expected to make the difference in the series and we’ll be backing them on home ice on Tuesday night. Take Devils NHL Money Line (-130)

Our second NHL best bet pick from this match up for tonight.

Even though the Devils had one of the top-five scoring offenses, a high-scoring game is not expected in this series. The Devils’ victory over the Rangers a few weeks ago was a 2-1 game, which is unsurprising considering that the Devils have allowed the eighth-fewest goals per game this season. Additionally, according to MoneyPuck, the Rangers rank 22nd in expected goal percentage, which supports a New Jersey win and a low-scoring game.

It’s also worth mentioning that the Rangers have the reigning Vezina Trophy winner for the NHL’s best goalie. Although Igor Shesterkin may not win the award again this year, he has helped the Rangers become the fourth-best team in goaltending, allowing only 2.63 goals per game. During the postseason, defensive effort intensifies, and skaters can become more uptight, which leads us to anticipate a low-scoring Game 1.

Best Bet NHL Pick: Totals Under 6.5

is available at the time of publishing, and it’s playable at 6.0 goals.
