NBA Pick: Phoenix Suns vs. Denver Nuggets Playoff Picks and Parlays

After two consecutive Phoenix Suns wins, the series is now tied at 2-2, and it’s up to the Denver Nuggets to respond with Game 5 taking place at Ball Arena. Tipoff is live at 10:00 pm ET on TNT, and we have prepared a Best Bet for today and a Same Game Parlay, which is available below.

Best Bet NBA Playoff Pick: Suns vs. Nuggets Point Spread Pick PHX Suns +5.5

The Denver Nuggets look to bounce back from losing back-to-back games as they return home to Denver to face the Phoenix Suns in a pivotal Game 5 matchup. Analyzing the Suns without starting point guard Chris Paul, they are quite different. With Cameron Payne in the starting lineup, the Suns have increased the tempo and are getting more points in transition. Head coach Monty Williams has also utilized his bench more in hopes to relieve the amount of time star players Devin Booker and Kevin Durant are on the court, as they are both playing for more than 40 minutes per game. Booker and Durant continued their dominance from their Game 3 performance, notching 36-point double-doubles. Booker had 12 assists, and Durant grabbed 11 boards.

The Nuggets do have the overall edge, though, as playing in Denver is rough. Along with the Nuggets’ home-court advantage, the Suns still do not have an answer for Nikola Jokic, who managed to score a playoff career-high 53 points in Game 4. Adjustments will most likely be made; however, Denver has shooters around Jokic to whom he can dish it out for an open shot if the Suns do end up double-teaming him. This will probably be a close game, and for Denver to be this big of a favorite is kind of surprising given how well Phoenix has played in the last two outings. Suns +5.5 is the play.

NBA Phoenix Suns vs. Denver Nuggets same game parlay picks: Nuggets return to winning ways at +788 odds

We have prepared a Same Game Parlay, so let’s dive into our Parlay bet for tonight’s playoff basketball now!

Best NBA Playoff Pick: Denver Nuggets 1-10 win margin (+170)

Game 5 is huge for both teams with the series lead being on the line. It should be another close game as the last three meetings were all decided by 10 points or fewer. Denver head coach Michael Malone mentioned his defense needs to be a lot better than in the previous two games, so I think his adjustments for Game 5 will primarily revolve around that. That recipe worked in the opening two games of the series when they held the Suns to a combined 194 points.

The Nuggets enter tonight’s game having won seven in a row at home, and they are also 4-1 SU in their last five at Ball Arena against the Suns. Devin Booker has had it going in the last couple of games, so slowing him down would give the Nuggets the best chance of winning. Kevin Durant will probably get his fair share regardless of who defends him. We have seen the Suns struggle quite a bit on the road, covering the spread just once in their last five games. Chris Paul is probably not going to play yet again, and I’m not ready

Best NBA Playoff Pick: Michael Porter Jr. Over 2.5 made 3s (+100)

Denver cannot rely on Jokic to keep scoring 50 points and keeping the team afloat. Jamal Murray is doing his part in this series, averaging 26 points per game, but Michael Porter Jr. needs to give them a much-needed lift from 3-point land. After a rough start in the first two games, he got going in Games 3 and 4, knocking down six and two 3s, respectively. With the series now returning to Denver, Porter Jr.’s level of play will also go up, as that generally happens with role players. He shot the 3-ball at 42% in round 1 and 41% during the regular season, so it’s not like he forgot to shoot overnight. Phoenix has guarded the perimeter well over its last three games, but on the road, they give up 36% of made 3s. Let’s hope Porter Jr. can knock down a few shots in Game 5.

Best NBA Playoff Pick: Nikola Jokic 1+ made 3s (-330)

Nikola Jokic is favored to make at least one 3-pointer in tonight’s game, with odds of -330. Despite his impressive performance in Game 4 with 53 points and 11 assists, the media focused on his altercation with Suns owner Mat Ishbia. Jokic has been shooting the 3-pointer at an impressive 47.2% in 9 playoff games, missing only in Game 1 against the Timberwolves. He has also made 50% of his attempts in 2 games against the Suns in the regular season, making it highly likely for him to make at least one triple in tonight’s game.

Best NBA Playoff Pick: Kevin Durant Over 0.5 blocks (-320)

Meanwhile, Kevin Durant’s odds of over 0.5 blocks are at -320. Although Durant has been impressive offensively, his defensive play has been equally noteworthy, with an average of 2 blocks per game in this series. He has recorded multiple blocks in 3 out of the 4 games and at least 1 block in every game of the series. In the previous round against the Clippers, he recorded 13 blocks in total, with only 2 games where he did not record a block. Given his playing time of 40+ minutes in every game except Game 1 of this series, Durant is expected to block at least one shot at the rim. With the Nuggets taking advantage of the Suns’ weakness inside in Game 4, scoring 72 points in the paint, it is highly likely that the Suns will continue to exploit this weakness in Game 5, making Durant’s chances of blocking a shot even higher.
