MLB Bet: Minnesota Twins vs. Seattle Mariners: NRFI (-135)

For my first pick of today’s slate, I’m going with NRFI in the American League clash between the Minnesota Twins and Seattle Mariners. The Mariners have had their struggles in the AL playoff race, but their pitching has been a bright spot. Luis Castillo has performed like an ace in 2023, ranking in the top 20th percentile among all starters in walk rate and whiff rate, with an impressive ERA of 2.96. He’s expected to have a quick start against the Twins.

On the other side, Kenta Maeda for the Twins has faced some challenges, currently holding a 5.50 ERA for the season. However, his expected ERA of 3.85 indicates that he’s due for positive regression, and he should have a solid start against the struggling Mariners lineup. With just six runs allowed in his last four outings, the veteran pitcher is poised for a strong performance on the road. Let’s back NRFI in what is expected to be a low-scoring affair at T-Mobile Park on Wednesday.
